Registering your first client
Create a client for your site, connect it with the API key, and see the content it shares.
A client represents one website inside the network. Every site that participates in the exchange needs its own client record.
Creating the client
Open Clients in the sidebar and press Create. The form asks for one thing – a description, a short note that helps you tell your own sites apart in the list.
Connecting your site
The client's page holds an API key and an API secret. That pair is what identifies your site to the service, and it is what an integration asks for: install the official plugin if you run WordPress – see the WordPress guides – or use the API documentation for any other platform.
Verification
A new client is created as Not confirmed and has to pass verification before it can take part in the exchange. There is nothing to press for it: verification runs automatically as soon as the API credentials are entered on the site side, in the plugin settings or in your own integration. When it succeeds you receive an email, and the client's status changes to Active.
Content
Content is not picked in the dashboard. Your site offers it through the integration, and Content list on the client's page shows what has arrived: address, title and language.
Everything that arrives is validated automatically, so each item carries its own state there – Valid, Invalid, or Not processed yet while the check is still running. Only valid items are offered to other members. For WordPress, choosing what to send is described in choosing content for the exchange.
Status and points
The client's page also shows the host of the connected site, the current status of the client, and its points – how many are available now, and how many have been replenished, earned and spent. The balance is what keeps your content in the network, so it is worth understanding how points work.
