Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: August 20, 2026.
Introduction
These Terms and Conditions (the "Terms") govern the use of Traffman, a content traffic exchange network ("Traffman", "we", "us"). They cover this website, your dashboard, our REST API and the official WordPress plugin – together, the "Service".
By creating an account, connecting a website or using the Service in any other way, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the Service.
The Terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we process and why.
What Traffman Is
Traffman is a network in which participating websites recommend each other's content. Your site displays recommendations from other members, and in return the articles you choose are offered across the network. There are no campaigns, no bids and no payments for placements – the exchange is accounted for in points, described below and in the Help Center.
A site joins either through the official WordPress plugin or through your own integration built on our API. Traffman is meant for websites that publish their own content: blogs, news sites, magazines, knowledge bases and similar projects.
Who May Use the Service
To use Traffman you must:
- be at least 18 years old, or old enough to enter into a binding contract where you live;
- be entitled to act for every website you connect – as its owner, or with the owner's permission;
- give accurate registration details and keep them up to date.
You may not use the Service if the law that applies to you prohibits it, or if you are subject to international sanctions that would make your participation unlawful. Where you use Traffman is your choice, and complying with the rules of your own country – including those on advertising, consumer protection and personal data – remains your responsibility.
If you use the Service on behalf of a company or another organisation, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.
Your Account
An account is created with an email address and a password, or through Google sign-in. It stays inactive until you confirm your email address by following the link we send you.
You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your credentials safe. If you suspect that someone else has gained access to it, tell us through the contact form without delay.
An account may hold several clients, so one account is enough for all of your websites. Accounts are personal and may not be sold, rented out or otherwise transferred.
Clients and API Credentials
Every website you connect is a client with its own API key and API secret. That pair identifies your site to the Service, so treat the secret the way you treat a password: do not publish it, and do not give it to anyone who should not act for your site. If it ever leaks, you can issue a new pair on the client's edit page.
A new client has to pass verification before it can take part in the exchange. Verification runs on its own as soon as the credentials are entered on your side, and it ties the client to the host it is used from. One website belongs to one client.
Requests signed with your credentials are treated as yours. You can remove a client at any time from its page in the dashboard.
Content You Share With the Network
Nothing leaves your site on its own – you choose which posts and pages are offered to the network, and you can withdraw any of them at any time.
You keep every right you have in your content. By offering an item to the exchange you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for as long as the item takes part in it, to fetch, store, process and index the item, and to show its title, a short excerpt and a preview image on the sites of other members with a link back to your page. The licence exists so that we can run the exchange, and for no other purpose.
When you take an item out of the exchange, or remove the client, we stop offering it. Copies already stored in caches – ours, a member's or an intermediary's – can take some time to disappear.
You confirm that you hold the rights needed for all of this, including rights to the images and other material inside the content you share.
Content and Site Rules
Content offered to the network, and the site it lives on, must not:
- break the law that applies to you, to us, or to the members who will display it;
- infringe someone else's copyright, trademark or other rights;
- contain pornography or sexually explicit material;
- promote violence, hatred or discrimination, or harass anyone;
- distribute malware, unwanted downloads, cryptominers or any other harmful code;
- attempt phishing or fraud, or advertise schemes that promise unrealistic earnings;
- offer medical, legal or financial claims that are false or dangerous;
- consist of scraped, auto-generated or duplicated filler published to game the exchange;
- sit behind a paywall, a login form or an interstitial that keeps visitors from the content they were promised;
- mislead visitors about where a link leads, including redirect chains and pages that show us something different from what a visitor sees.
We may also refuse content that is technically valid but does not fit the network – for example a page that is mostly a form, a listing or an advertisement rather than an article.
You may not connect a site that you do not control, and you may not use the Service to build networks of sites whose only purpose is to exchange traffic with each other.
Automatic Validation
Every item that reaches the Service is checked automatically. The check looks at technical properties: that the address responds, that it returns an HTML page, that the page is not larger than the accepted limit, that readable text can be extracted from it, and that the text is long enough and matches what was submitted.
Each item then carries a state – Valid, Invalid or Not processed yet – visible in the client's content list. Only valid items are offered to other members. Validation is technical, not editorial: passing it does not mean we have reviewed the content or approved it.
We may re-check any item later, and we may reject or remove content at any time if it breaks the rules above. Your site must serve the network the same page it serves an ordinary visitor.
Content You Display on Your Site
You decide where the Traffman content block appears, how it looks, and how many blocks a page carries, up to the limit stated in the documentation. What the block may offer your visitors is narrowed with the settings on your side: language, topics, stop-words and a domain blacklist.
Recommendations come from other members, and we do not review them one by one before they are shown. We do check them technically and act on reports, but you remain in control of your own site: use the filters, and tell us through the contact form if something that should not be in the network reaches your pages.
You may not change what the block reports, hide it from visitors while keeping it in the page, place it where it will be taken for your own editorial content, or wrap it in anything that misrepresents its origin.
Privacy Obligations Towards Your Visitors
The content block works on your website, so your visitors' data is involved. When a recommendation is displayed and when a visitor clicks it, we record the event together with the visitor's IP address – to count it, to keep the exchange honest, and for nothing else. Details are in our Privacy Policy.
For those visitors you are the one who decides that the block is there, which makes you responsible for your own privacy notice and for any consent your law requires. Please describe the block in it, and make sure the notice covers the processing your local rules expect you to disclose. We act on your instructions for this data and do not use it to build profiles of your visitors or to sell to anyone.
Fair Use of the Exchange
The exchange only works while the numbers behind it are real. You must not, directly or through anyone else:
- generate impressions or clicks artificially – with bots, scripts, click farms, paid or incentivised clicks, or your own repeated clicking;
- load blocks in hidden frames, off-screen containers, pop-unders or auto-refreshing pages;
- interfere with how events are recorded, or send the Service events that did not happen;
- work around limits, rate limits or a suspension, for instance by registering another account or client;
- probe, scan or overload our infrastructure, or use the API in ways the documentation does not describe.
Where we find inflated activity, we may void the points involved, suspend the client, and – if it continues – close the account.
Points
Points are internal accounting units of the exchange. They are not money: they have no monetary value, they cannot be bought, sold, transferred between accounts or exchanged for cash, and they are not your property. Nothing in the Service is a payment, a reward or an investment.
Each client receives a monthly grant that depends on the account's plan, earns points by displaying other members' content, and spends them when its own content is displayed and clicked. Once the balance runs out, the client's content stops being offered until the balance recovers. The current figures are published in the Help Center.
The Service is in test mode and the formula is still being tuned, so the rates, the grants and the balance rules may change. We will publish changes on the site before they take effect, unless a change has to be immediate to stop abuse.
We may correct a balance that was affected by a bug, a duplicate event or activity that broke the rules above.
The Fortune Wheel is a free way to add a small number of points to a client, with a waiting period between spins. It costs nothing, involves no stake and awards nothing but points, some sectors being empty – it is not a game of chance in the legal sense, and no spin can be bought.
Plans and Payments
Traffman is currently free. Every account starts on a trial month and then moves to the free plan; both are described on the Pricing page.
We plan to offer paid plans with larger point grants and stronger promotion tools. If we do, we will publish the prices and the terms before anything is charged, we will never convert a free account into a paid one without your explicit action, and access to the free plan will remain.
Availability and Changes to the Service
We work to keep the Service running, but we do not promise uninterrupted availability. It can be unavailable during maintenance, during an incident, or because something outside our control fails.
Traffman is a young service in active development. We may add, change or discontinue features, adjust limits, or change how the exchange is calculated. Where a change materially affects how you use the Service, we will announce it in advance on the site. If we were ever to discontinue the Service, we would give reasonable notice so that you can remove the block from your site.
Suspension and Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time: remove a client from the dashboard, or ask us through the contact form to delete your account.
We may suspend a client or an account, remove content from the exchange, or close an account when these Terms are broken, when the activity of a site threatens the network or its members, or when the law requires it. Where the circumstances allow, we will contact you first and give you a chance to fix the problem; a serious or repeated breach may lead to immediate closure.
When an account is closed, its clients stop taking part in the exchange, its content is no longer offered, and the points on its balance are lost – they have no value outside the exchange and are not compensated. Remember to remove the content block from your site.
Intellectual Property
The Traffman name, logo, website, dashboard and API, together with their texts, design and code, belong to us. These Terms do not transfer any of that to you, and do not allow you to copy or imitate it.
The official WordPress plugin is distributed under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. Nothing here limits the rights that licence gives you in the plugin's code.
Your own content, brand and website remain entirely yours – the only right we receive is the limited licence described above.
Third-Party Services and External Links
Some parts of the Service rely on third parties: Google sign-in when you choose it, and Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects our forms from automated abuse. Using those parts also means accepting the terms of the providers involved.
Recommendations lead to websites we do not run. We do not endorse what is published there, and a link in the network is not a statement about the quality or the safety of its destination.
No Warranties
The Service is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, to the extent that the law allows.
In particular, we do not promise any amount of traffic, any number of impressions or clicks, any revenue, any effect on your search rankings, or that the recommendations shown on your site will suit your audience. We do not guarantee that the Service will be error-free, that validation will catch everything, or that every member will follow these Terms.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent that the law allows, we are not liable for lost traffic, lost profits, lost data, lost rankings, or any indirect or consequential damage arising from your use of the Service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the event – which, while the Service is free, means that our liability is limited to putting the affected part of the Service right.
Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including liability for intent, gross negligence, or harm to life and health.
Your Responsibility for Claims
If someone brings a claim against us because of the content you shared, the website you connected or the way you used the Service, you agree to cover the reasonable costs and damages we incur as a result, to the extent the claim comes from your breach of these Terms.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms as the Service develops. The current version always lives at this address, with the date of the last change at the top.
Where a change matters to you, we will announce it on the site, and where the law requires it, by email, before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the new version; if you do not, you can stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the law of Ukraine, where the Service is operated from, and disputes arising from them fall to the competent courts of Ukraine.
This does not take away rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country you live in, when that law gives you rights that a contract cannot remove. If any provision of these Terms turns out to be invalid, the rest stays in force.
Traffman is available worldwide, and using it does not mean that we offer the Service in a way that meets the specific requirements of every country. As stated above, complying with your local rules is your responsibility.
