The Traffman plugin is now in the official WordPress directory
The review is over: the Traffman plugin is now published in the official WordPress plugin directory at wordpress.org/plugins/traffman.
It is one of the important steps for the content traffic exchange network. Joining it no longer starts with downloading a ZIP file from us – it starts where every other WordPress plugin starts, in the admin panel of your own site: Plugins → Add New, search for "Traffman", install, activate.
Everything about installing the plugin and working with it – connecting a client, choosing content, placing the block, reading the statistics – is described in the Help Center.
Updates arrive on their own
The more useful consequence of being in the directory is updates. Every new version is now delivered by WordPress itself – the same update notice, the same one-click upgrade, and automatic updates if you have them enabled for the site.
Sites running a copy installed manually from our download page keep working exactly as before, and nothing has to be done today. Reinstalling the plugin from the directory is worth doing when convenient, though: it is the same plugin, and afterwards new versions come to you instead of having to be fetched.
Thanks to everyone who tested the plugin before it went public. Reviews and feedback on the plugin page are welcome – they are read.
